R129 Front Wing

My beloved 99 R129 has succumbed to the dreaded rust on one of the front wings and deterioration has been rapid. After looking on internet called local MB dealer and can get the wing for £500 painted which is a result. The guy I spoke to asked if my R129 had been serviced by MB dealer throughout its life (I use a gr8 specialist) because they are warrantied for 30 years but only if serviced by MB. So if you are lucky enough to have one of these beauties and it’s got full MB service and it’s starting to rust enjoy your visit to MB.

I assume he was talking about Mobilo cover, which wouldn't apply to earlier cars.

He definitely said warranty and for 30 years. No good for me but there might be someone out there who’s more fortunate.

Mobilo was a 30-year breakdown and anti-corrosion warranty introduced in late 1998. Hence your 1999 R129 would have had it, but not my 1997 one. As you mentioned, it requires full MB service history to keep it going.
