my grill has been broken for a while and although you could not see the damage every time I opened and closed the bonnet it would rattle and as I am in the process of replacing the hood release cable I thought I should tackle this issue as well
I took the grill off and had to fix 3 out of 6 fixings. No wonder it rattles.
And
I decided to use metal strips and pop rivets to repair the broken plastic.
And another broken bit fixed
Popped it all back on and also installed a new star on the grill as the old one was only held by 2 (out of 8) plastic tabs.
It is a bit fiddly attaching the star but just hold it in place and very slow turn it anti clockwise while pressing down till it clicks on place. I had to push down on the bottom slats to turn it the last few degrees before it slotted in place
And there it is.
