r129 headlamp washer fault

I recently purchased a 96 sl500 which has a few issues, i have a problem with headlamp washers which wont switch off and empty the washer bottle after about 30 seconds.
can anyone tell me if there is a washer control unit on this vehicle,also location, [ i have ordered w/shop manual on cd but not yet received.]
also have a problem with gearbox which sometimes wont engage reverse
and jerky in forward gears [ i think it could be the speed sensor in box ]

Did you ever find a solution to this? Same thing's happened to my 97 SL over the last few days.OS headlamp washer jammed on, only powering off rectified it, but now the wipoer is jammed 'open'. NS washer, wiper and windscreen washers and wiper all working normally. I always imagined the whole system being run from one pump, but it would appear not.

Any ideas anyone?

Bad headlamp wiper motor. Probably on the offside. I've had to replace it twice so far.

Cheap and quick "fix" is to disconnect the pump on the washer bottle.
