Bit of help needed guys (again).

Folding roof has been up for ages (weather has been rubbish and wet) and found both rear footwells soaking wet

Decided to put it in the shelter of my garage and fold the roof down to air but the roof had to be helped to operate by my free hand.

So, has anyone else had sodded footwells and a very slow operating roof?

As always, any advice appreciated.

Take tha carpets out and do a water test with a hose. You should be able to trace the leak easily.

Was the engine running when the roof was operated?

Cheers, will do.:thumb:

No, engine was off whilst roof was being lowered.

I think you will find that it is recommended to have the engine running whilst operating the roof - too much drain on the battery - not surprised it needed a hand.

Are these carpets in sections or do the seats have to come out? :(

Just as well its parked up for winter.

MODS: can you please transfer this thread to the "Interior" section.:o

Can anyone please provide guidance to get the seats out, so I can pull the carpet out to dry?

Many thanks:)

Any possibility that the damp is coming from the bottom up? rather than the roof down?
I note that my R230 has a screwed in cover in one wheel arch (Not sure what is behind it?).
Mine were damp one day but it was very wet on the M'way and I had been through a ford in Derbyshire!!

I dont suspect my tin roof of leaking.

i had similar problem with w124 and roof was letting water in u would need reproof it, there is DIY way or spray if u need more info pm me

Not sure really. Was hoping to remove the carpet, refit the rest and water test.

Inner lining of roof is bone dry:confused:.

Only saving grace is that its now garaged for winter so I've got plenty of time to dry it out and see. I'm a bit impatient:rolleyes:

Many thanks guys.
