r129 rear mirror removal

Hi, the rvm has two flashing lights on it for the central locking, the bottom part with the two lights has cracked slightly so I want to remove it and repair it. Can't see an easy way of doing this? There are no obvious screws anywhere.I've checked YouTube fir videos but can't see on.... Any one completed this before? Any advice would be appreciated. Also would this affect the central locking? Thanks

This is a W202, presume yours is similar, someone who has done it before may go into more detail.
Its designed to snap off in the event of a crash so its spring loaded, tricky putting it back if you haven’t done it before.

Thanks Dec. I kinda wish I paid more attention to what you said about being tricky!!

Managed to get it off fine and can see how I can repair it... Just trying to put it back on now. Absolute mission! Is there a technique to it??
