Hi,
Does anyone know of a UK supplier for the two bolts and spacers that pass through the lower suspension wishbone rubber bushes (Front) of a r129 SL320 ? i can find complete arms, bushes, and knuckle joints but no fixing kits..any assistance greatly appreciated.Has anyone renewed these? my bolts appear to be seized, bush is turning when i attempt removal.
regards

George

They aren't particularly expensive from the dealer.

"I think" the Lemforder lower bush kit comes with the bolts, If your bolts have funny shaped washers and possibly a deep groove through the bolt then these I believe are only available from MB around £11 each bolt, nut and washer set IIRC.

Thank you chaps, i won't know what kind of bolts i have till i get the old ones out..looks like a challenge, the bushes are twisting when i try to undo the bolts ..possibly a major job towards the end of the season when i take car off the road..( as soon as the first salt gritter has appeared, a Golden rule for my motorbike and my prized Merc)

Are you aware that these have eccentric washers and control both the camber and the castor angle.

The position of the washer should therefore be marked before turning, to avoid having to get the geometry adjusted again.

I guess it may be too late now, but perhaps the rust outline is still there.

The front bolt controls the camber, the rear bolt controls the castor.

What problem you having that got you into this ?

Hi,
Thank you kth286 for your input to my Query.
On taking delivery of car i noted mismatched brands and incorrect sized tyres, Therefore i took car to local tyre depot whom i have used many times and had new correct sized tyres fitted all round ( 225x55R16) i asked fitter to check the tracking /steering Geometry and he called me over and pointed out that as he was trying to turn bolts to make adjustments the bushes were twisting in housing, the bushes look perished therefore i have decided to renew them, to save hassle i have bought a complete L/H lower control arm From ECP (Lemforder brand), it has come with reterntion bolt for ball joint but not new pivot bolts, In case i have to resort to butchering them out ( Perhaps via sawing down sides, i have a pnuematic air saw) i need to have new bolts ready.I will have tracking etc set up when i have renewed arm, As these are only £107 complete inc delivery at the moment i may change both arms. Anyone here with any experience of this task ? what can i expect? I have obtained a correct Mercedes suspension spring compressor.
Regards
George
