My SL 320 1994 won't start after we have repaired the Boot push button as it's mechanical function was faulty. Since then the car won't start. When I turn the key the ignition turns on with all the fascia lights coming on but there is no movement of the starter. It seems like the engine immobilizer is not being turned off. I've checked all the fuses, which are fine. The vacuum pump in the boot is not making its usual gurgling sound on turning the ignition, although all the vacuum pipes are connected correctly. The infrared lights at non of the three sites are flashing either, although I have changed the batteries on the Key. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
