My air flow sensor has proven to be faulty (starts and runs for a short journey, but then goes very lumpy).
Bought a replacement from the USA (recon - £140), but it didn't work, making me suspect the emission settings for USA models are different from UK models. Opinions?
Finally located a 2nd hand one from a UK breaker's yard (£230) and have yet to fit it.
My questions are:
1) Can a USA air flow sensor be recalibrated for UK use, and
2) Does anyone know of someone who can recondition old sensors?
These things are so rare and expensive, it seems prudent to have a spare, and I would imagine it's much cheaper to have one reconditioned than buy new (or even 2nd hand).
