Hi, does anyone have access to or preferrably supply the R129 Tech DVD that is available from the USA?
I don't know if there is a UK version but this DVD keeps getting mentioned on the US forums.
I am trying to find what the 'limit switch soft top up (secondary closing speed)' fault 15 means with a problem with my hood.

any help would be much appreciated!

cheers
Chris

That CD does not contain this info.

I have never heard anything about the speed of the soft top

where did you get this info from

Hi Malcolm,
I have a 1990 300SL & the code I got (number 15) was read from the soft top controller. I looked this up in a list of codes from an American site & that's what it said.
Any ideas ?
cheers
Chris

I can look it up I hope, but not today.

Can you please tell us what the hood is doing, and maybe I will have the work sheet

Hi Malcolm,
the deck lifts up but the hood will not lift - the pump is running & the relay is clicking.
If I manually lift it the front locks, rear of the hood goes up - deck drops rear goes down - eveything works fine.
It also goes down without a problem - the only problem is the roof not raising - which uses the 2 large hydraulic cylinders.
I have a pdf of fault codes from a CS100 code scanner (I can't seem to attatch it here) that is where the info comes from.

Any more help gratefully received!
Cheers
Chris

OK I will look but maybe not today:):)

This is in the wrong section really.

have you checked the fluis level under the cover where the spare wheel is. You check the level and it should be midway with the roof and roll bar down

Fault 15 is a problem with S84/4 differencial operation

As this is your reading I cant take any blaim, but I can send you the details on how to change this switch.

I will need an Email address, but wait till we are both on line, you need two more post to be able to PM

Hi Malcolm,
if that switch is the one on the B post nearside - I have tried that switch & it's working OK - so is the one that signals when the deck is open. I think the fault 15 must appear because the switch S84 does not change because the roof does not go up to press it.

It's as if something isn't telling the relay to kick in or the relay is working but the fluid isn't getting to the rams.
Any more ideas please?
many thanks
Chris

I have checked the fluid in the reservoir by the way & it's between the 2 marks.

Talk about a bump!!
The problem is solved thanks - I had blown my roof controller jump starting the car & had to replace it.

cheers
Chris
