Hi I've just bought a "94" 320 R129, not perfect but a nice honest car so I'm working through the odd niggles you always get with old cars.

One thing is I've just found damp in the drivers footwell after heavy rain. It's directly below the door mirror. Could it be this or am I barking up the wrong tree?

Have a look at seal above the windscreen, and on the roof, where they join. Sometimes, dirt can make a poor seal, which may allow the water to run down into the footwell via the A pillar. A good clean up and a bit of Vaseline on the rubbers may help.

Thank's, I'll take a look.

I spent this morning making sure all the drains were running clear (I can't believe how many there are) all seem okay. I think you may be right about the seal so a good dose of silicon lube (I've heard somewhere vaseline rots rubber)
Fingers crossed.
