R129 wet rear footwell

The carpet in the rear drivers side footwell is soaked. I quite certain that it isn't coming in through the roof or door seal as this is the only area that is wet. The car is normally parked on slight slope and when I moved it this morning and parked it on level ground, I noticed that there was water running from underneath the car on that side On closer inspection this water was running from what I can only assume are drain holes. Can anyone explain what is causing the problem and advise how to sort it?

Was it nose up on the slope?

So unlikely to be coming from the front drainage chanels then.

Just to clarify; the water is dripping from holes underneath the car in the mid section.

I think I've read something about the seals around the rear lights failing on these cars. Might be worth checking.

Yes they do but you only get water in the boot battery tray, so this is not the cause...
