R129 Windscreen Replacement Question

Both - hydraulics to power the rams, electric to power the solenoids and drive the pump that provides the hydraulics.

I have had ongoing problems with soft top operation on my 1993 SL320. I have checked with the experienced independent Mercedes mechanics at SM Autocare, Pickering and they tell me that the soft top should be operated with the engine running and the handbrake engaged. If the battery is in anything other than full charge then there may be problems with operation. Also, it is essential that the windows should be re-set per the manual if there are any problems (although of course issues could be elsewhere).

My problems remain though with the hood now requiring replacement. Has anyone had recent experience of someone they could recommend in Yorkshire or surrounding counties?
