R172 SLK LED DRLs

Just a quick question

I noticed on my '15 SLK that when the doors are unlocked with the fob, the headlights briefly come on with dimmed DRLs. But when the car is running, the DRLs go off when the headlights (halogen) come on.

Clearly the dimming circuitry is in place, so is there anyway to activate dimmed DRLs when the headlights are on?

Pretty sure Alfie or Richard came up with a solution to this. Iirc halogen headlamps, the drls go out, ILS, they stay on dim - can't be changed without coding.

By the way, how do you get on with the Renegade? We had one as a hire car recently in Scotland and really liked it! Very competent little car!
