Does anyone have a contact at an MB dealer with an SLK55 demo?

Am thinking of getting one, but want to test one properly.

It's great that a panoramic roof is finally available on the SLk.

Thanks.

Hughes of Beaconsfield are letting me have one for the day this weekend, but they had to reserve it centrally (via Milton Keynes, presumably).

Thinking od getting a decent cat then Sean?

The dealer in Guildford has one, although it is a terrible colour, brown.

Sean,

Don't bother. The CLS will beat the SLK performance-wise (in a straight line, at least) and you'll have the V8 soundtrack. If you want to go round the twisties quickly, the GT3 will leave the SLK for dead.

I love my SLK, but that's the way it is. Stick with what you've got..

Cheers,

Gaz

How the hell of went to ot and car to cat beats me!!!

I agree the CLS is more powerful, but roof doesn't go down, and no panoramic roof either.

you're right though, the CLS is a great car.

C240Sport97 - on the M25 today driving wayyyy too slow in your cls 55...

You really should be above 100, and not below it..

lovely looking car BTW...

You overtook me around junction 8/9 ....

Mystic blue is really a great colour..

Check out the late used SLK55s on the Mercedes websites, a lot of the low mileage MY 12/13 cars on there are demo cars.

That's how I ended up with mine, 250 miles on the clock £46k, but I understand really good deals are available on new motors too.

I thought it was you .. the side vents looked great.

seems like your 'chauffeur' was driving :)

you do know that it was chucking down with icy rain .. and loads of traffic!

Pearl Beige really suits the 212. First one I have ever seen on the road

thanks.. i think the vent design work most of the time.. the closer you get, the worse it is lol.. but otherwise.. i think it looks the part :)

chauffeur.. i wish.. haha

wifey decided we havent used her in a while and she wanted to take it for a spin..

the colour is a nice.. seen so few.. possibly the reason why they have discontinued it... oh well.. it feels more exclusive now lol..

but seriously loved your car.. gave you a flash (with the headlights)..

icey and rainy.. whats that got to do with a CLS55.. its tough.. and with ESP.. sorted ;)

I'm looking at possibly ordering a new SLK55 and have been offered a similar deal on a brand new factory order. There are some fantastic deals around. Not sure what it will do to residuals in the future though.

pearl beige available on new SL :)

I had a tail out wiggle on the slip road which was a bit energetic which reminded me that even nearly new tyres cannot overcome icy slippy roads :)

Yeah, it's a problem but I was really lucky Diamond White with Bengal red interior which I think looks really good. It also had the gun metal 10 spoke alloys which look really great without the Chav look of the black 10 spokes. I would have liked the performance pack at the time for the LSD but not sure now, thinking about the composite brakes.

it was quite violent, so less fun than you might imagine .. and all I did was prod the accelerator is bit harder :)

agree on 10 spoke non black wheels. I would spec that too.

performance pack is expensive, and I wouldn't want performance suspension. Would like the LSD though.

SLK350 BE AMG Sport is only about £5000 less than an SLK55, once you add spec to 350 to bring to 55 level.

SLK350 OTR: £44,260

Add:
BiXenons ILS: £1150
Metallic Paint: £645
Nappa leather: £360
Memory Package: £1030
Heated Seats: £330
COMAND: £1995
Cost of options to SLK55 spec: £5510
Total: £49,770

SLK55 OTR: £54,990

Difference in cost for an AMG V8: £54,990-£49,770: £5220

Bargain when looked at like that!
