R230 Luggage

Anyone got the bag that goes behind the seats on an R230 SL?

I know there are a few on Ebay but they are silly money(£450+) which is not worth it for something I will use 2-3 times a year.

If there is not one here in the Uk I will probably order one of these.

Look carefully at those R230 bags

I looked at the fitted luggage. There's the official £450 behind the seats version and a cheaper "Roadster" non-OEM version for a third of the price

But the more you look at them, the more they look to be over designed, and klutzy when looked at outside the car.

The one piece MB version is both heavy and awkward to lift out from behind the seats because of its width. (And remember you'll want to lift it out from behind the seats when the hood is in place.) And when you're off to the airport, it's an awkward piece of luggage to check in - two smaller carry on bags make more sense.

So I just stayed with my soft leather holdall and it has worked. When all is said and down, there's actually lot of space in the R230, especially with the hood up.

So, before splashing the cash, ask yourself do you really want to carry those odd shaped bags around.
