HI all, I have a 2003 SL500 recently inherited from my late father. I have a concern over the water coming into the boot area (common i know).
I have noticed the boot lid does not sit flush with the o/s rear quarter panel by C Pillar when the roof is in the up position but when the roof is stowed in the boot it looks right.
My local garage (not merc but a friend) seems to think it looks like the c pillar is perhaps stopping the boot from closing completely. From a smoke test it is this area that the water would appear to be coming in from.
There is only a few mm in this. Is there any adjustment in the c pillar alignment that can be done? I was wondering if it were a cable that may have stretched over time? or is there any other adjustment that can be done?
Any ideas would be gratefully received.
