Now this should be interesting at Le Mans this year. Front engined, FWD!!

Even the driver has an interesting 'in' to the race scene, winner of Sony's PlayStation GT challenge...

Will be watching how it all pans out

Ridiculously fast in straight line, crap into and coming out of the corners.
Interesting aero principles though.
In the test last week it was slower than the P2 cars which is a shame, but for a first outing of a new concept we shouldn't expect too much.

Hopefully it'll last longer than the one that looked like a three wheeler and the driver doesn't do something to make them introduce speed limits.

The one that was hit by another car? A real shame as it would have been good to see it finish the race

Ben Bowlby is definitely an original thinker. There's a lot of maths behind his designs and lots of practical experience from his time at Lola

The car Nissan raced at le Mans in 2012 was originally designed by him in 2009 as a future IndyCar chassis, but a conventional design by Dallara was chosen instead. This left it as a prototype with nowhere to go

That's the one, a real shame indeed. Didn't appreciate the background behind it, thanks for that.

Ironically, I hadn't watched the Leno vid before making the quip about the driver. They do go on a bit about keeping the front end down don't they!

Just been watching the video again - the car weighed 417 Kg! Amazing

It must have been a real eye-opener for everyone involved in the project to see conventional wisdom turned on its head so completely. 4" wide front tyres, 75% rearward weight balance, no wings... to anyone used to traditional race cars, it all seems wrong!
