My son has just come home moaning that the face plate from his Pioneer Radio doesnt light up or work. He has power to it as he can insert and remove disks. It is a DEH 3400R. Is it possible to repair these or, as I fear he will have to purchase a new one? Any advice would be appreciated, thanks.

Ian, two probs that come up often which can casuse it not to light up, bulbs in facceplate, or the most likely a break in the ribbon, where the headunit flips down so you can take the face off., ur local stereo shop should know someone who can fix it.

if it is the ribbon a new face wont help!

thanks for your reply's and help guys. Info passed on to whinging son (he just has to buy a Merc. Vauxhall SRI owner  )

it probably committed suicide for being in a vauxhall

(its a common problem among faceoff units, that why i dont have a face off unit)
