Regents Park is often used for patient transfer between helicopter and ambulance. As I was walking by today I saw one such patent transfer and took a couple of photos.

Not a rare sight as such, but still it is not often that members of the public get this close to these loud yet magnificent machines, albeit sadly in circumstances where another person is clearly either injured or ill.

Looking at the helicopter and the crews at work, my first thought was that we should be proud at the effort and resources that we as a society dedicate to saving lives and healing people.

One flew over my house on Sunday, quite low, quite loud.

My wife is a Biomedical Scientist and the helipad at the hospital was right next to the laboratory building.

I've seen these machines at very close quarters. Phenomenal.

On terra firma, the pilots get it relatively easy. They earn their coin out in the seas and oceans. Places we would rather not be.

Total respect for these pilots and crew members.
