I take nearly everyone uses Rain X, it's great stuff. I first saw it in action on my Uncles Cessna pilot trainer when I was 16 in Miami. Been using it for the last 22 years and I'm surprised hardly anyone I speak to has heard of it.

never used it

but that sounds like a good prompt i might get some at lunchtime:thumb:

I wonder how long it Will be until someone comes along to argue that this product is not only useless but dangerous as well?

I use the Gtechnic G1 on the windscreen, purely because it lasts much longer than Rain X (couple of years for one application). I use Rain X on the sides and rear as they don't take as much of a beating.

Both are great products.

/edit.. Last month I cleaned the shower glass and applied rain X to that. I'm still in credit with brownie points from the missus, works just the same as on the windscreen :)

It works great on glass, and appears to work great on plastics too. However, it actually promotes micro-crazing of many plastics - well know by the motorcycle riding community who use it on helmet visors - so I'd avoid its use on headlamp lenses.

Hmmm might try it on our glass shower see if it cuts down on cleaning !!

Best thing ever in the wet. Make sure you put it on all the windows

Still got an almost full bottle of it somewhere at the back of the garage, from over 20 years ago.

My experience of it is the same as Spike's. Great up until the moment you need to activate the wipers, or you allow muck to build up on the screen (because you don't want to use the wipers as you know what happens when you do...). The only way to keep it effective is to constantly reapply it, which becomes extremely tiresome very quickly.

There is a good reason why it's not in universal use!

You can get it in a spray bottle and it doubled as windscreen cleaner. Apply to cloth, clean windscreen and the screen is treated. I love it.

The ones moaning about it are not using it properly Mr Spike and Mr Corned

I had a judder problem on the wipers of the MX5, wiped them down with IPA and it was fine after that.
