I remember a couple of months ago a thread about alarms that go off for no reason. The alarm in my 2006 C-Coupe started doing this a couple of weeks ago. Switching off the motion detector seemed to prevent it.

Finally got the car to the dealer at the weekend, they hooked it up to the computer and told me the solution......

.......they are going to replace the rear screen.

Something to do with an intermittent fault in the "glass break loop" - Not sure if they just change the glass panel or the whole tailgate.

If it had to fail, I'm glad it did it under warranty.

Can anyone shed any light on this ?

I had the rear screen replaced this morning...and the telephone aerial fell off this afternoon.

It looks like they tried to stick the original aerial onto the new glass screen with silcone sealant or possibly the bonding agent that holds the screen in. Whatever it is it didn't stick to glass very well.

Not impressed !

I also noticed that the trim around the inside of the tailgate hadn't been put back properly. The car went back in on Friday to have a new aerial attached and the trim sorted.

When it came back the aerial had been stuck on but the trim hadn't been touched.

Sadly they had washed the car after sticking the new aerial on and it was already coming unstuck by the time the car was brought back to me.

Car now needs to go back in to have the trim sorted (still) and new aerial attached (again).
