Went down to the Gower yesterday to a lovely beach called Oxwich. Had a great day with the kids, grandkids and even the mother in law enjoyed herself. Anyway quite late on in the day we spotted this chap close to us

After firing up this contraption he then ran down the beach and came perilously close to the sea before he achieved lift off !

However he did achieve his ascent and into the sun he went!

Quite amusing to watch really !!

He would get jumped on big time by the CAA/Police ... operating a paramotor (now officially a "foot launched self-propelled Hang glider" / SPHG) out of an uncontrolled public area like that is not safe or legal ...

I need to get one of those!

The desert trip will be just so much cooler!

Does anyone know how high they fly, how long they can fly for, speed, etc?

I.e. can I fly over my car taking pictures while my co-pilot drives?

(sorry for the thread hijack)

I was wondering about the legality of it myself to be honest especially as there is Swansea airport only 3 miles from the beach.

he really should be doing that very early in the morning when no one is around, one gust of wind and he is in trouble.
