It's to do with triage. Those faking it will get sore and move on, while genuine patients will suffer the agony to to be seen.

Funnily enough, I've suspected as much for some time.

Why would anyone fake illness/injury to spend time in A&E?

'Fake' might be the wrong word (unless they suffer from Munchausen Syndrome), but apparently some people go to A&E whenever they have a cold or mild flu etc.

I presented with heart attack symptoms once (it was actually a panic attack). - You don't stay in those seats long if they think there's a chance of you dying in the waiting room.

Why do we constantly hear women complaining about the toilet seat being left up, but they remain incapable of putting the lid down?

Personally I would do my best to keep away from there, it's minging.

I used to have a pal who was always in and out of A&E including calling ambulances but there never seemed to be much wrong with him, I assume that he grew out of it eventually.

Maybe he decided to get his own ambulance?

While waiting in A&E, with a consultation wait of some three hours, and young woman walked in complaining of a twisted ankle. When the receptionist told her it was a three hour wait, she conveniently fainted and had to be rushed through straight away.

Ironically, I was seen by the triage nurse, waited a further two hours, then was seen by a doctor. All the time, this young lady was camped on a trolley bed. In fact, when I was discharged some four hours later, she was still on the trolley bed waiting to be seen.

I think the hospital staff know a faker when they see one, and deal with them appropriately.

Sorry, forgot to ask my question.

Why does nostril and ear hair suddenly appear on your fortieth birthday, while your head hair starts to recede?

Of course not, causes too much paperwork.

Also informed that people don't actually die in Ambulences. You are only dead when a doctor says you are. Which also tends not to happen towards the end of a shift......

Allegedly.

What is the significance of "blue" when it comes to making cars more efficient.

Aren't they trying to be more "green"?

Why do we take so long to clear broken down vehicles on motorways? In the US they seem to hauled out of the way within minutes to minimise hold-ups
