How do they get screw lids onto drinks bottles with the 'break off' part still obviously connected to the lid?

If you examine the break off part it has teeth that lock when the cap is being removed causing it to break off but ride over the teeth on the bottle when it is being put on the bottle for the first time.

Why do they still sell/advertise TV's with imperial screen sizes as opposed to metric?

Because 'murica?

It's a good question. - I was never taught imperial measurements at school, so everything is just an approximation back to metric for me.
(For example if you tell me it's "an inch", in my head you've said "about 3cm"; if you say "a yard", in my head it's "about a meter".)

So as far as I'm concerned, my screen is 270cm diagonally rather than 106".

As far as I'm concerned you've got glaucoma!

Ant. :D

No, I measured it; that's 270cm at 1080p:

Haha. You misunderstood my post.

To have a 9' TV you must have glaucoma.

It was just a silly joke.

Why do stores advertise 30% off everything, only to then follow it with an asterisk and long list of exclusions? Why not say 30% off some things? If nothing else, it would save on ink and time typing.

Most sales will say, 'Up to 90% off list price', yet most items will be discounted much less, such as 5% off list price. It is the 'Up to...' that is the thorn, because it gives them the scope to offer anywhere between 1 and 90 percent.

More to the point, if an item is free, then why do you need to purchase a qualifying item. Free means free, and should not have strings attached. If you have to buy the first one before getting the second one free, you are essentially getting each item at half price.

Now for my question...

Why does my skin itch when I am tired?

I was once blackmailed by a woman that insisted we had an affair, with no strings attached.
On our first date, I took her parachuting from 20,000 feet.
She was dead when they dug her out of the hole she made in the M6 motorway.

If Domestos kills 99% of all known germs, wouldn't it be better to prescribe that instead of antibiotics?!

ok.......why does Sky sports F1 HD need to advertise SKY sports F1 HD?

And while we are on it, to be frank for a minute, when watching SKY sports F1 HD, why do they tell me whats coming on sky sports elsewhere? I am watching a dedicated F1 channel for a reason. (No football).

If it was a non dedicated channel, fine, but it isn't. It should be dedicated to the F1. Bit like Sky Sports is dedicated to sport. F1 should be one thing. F1.

And another thing. Stop putting the rolling SKy F1 your home of formula one up when there are no races. Repeat all the previous F1 grand prix. There is likley to be several hundred on TV form, waiting to go. why not do that. Its all about F1, isn't it. put F1 on it then and stick to F1.

Clue is in the title. SKY SPORTS F1 HD.

It's not quite clear what channel you're referring to. :D
