The latter. You come around when it wears off.

And BTW, you're stealing BB's (aka ' The Resurrector') job :D
Cool. Ty.

hehe. I just didn’t think it was worth starting a new thread. 🤪

Another mahoooosive old thread revival.

Just curious (please don’t judge me 😁) but when you have an operation and the anaesthetist does their thing. Do they give you a shot to put you under, then another shot of something else to wake you up?

Or is the first shot given according to the predicted duration of the op (with the option of administering more if more time is needed) and you simply come around when it wears off?

A very random question. I’m just really curious as to how it all works. 🤔
Don't know the answer, but if I were your partner I'd be VERY worried now........

I actually know that one.

Uncomfortable seats, bright white light, empty walls.

It's done on purpose, to discourage people from spending more time in A&E than is absolutely necessary.

I am seruous, BTW. People go to A&E for all sorts of reasons... including to sleep there (security will move them on). Some just like hospitals. Others use it instead of making a GP appointment. Etc.

The design is such that the place is functional but uninviting.

Chris, you waited 5 years for this answer... :D do now you know :thumb:
I read a book once about commercial room design. One sticks out which is/was McDonalds in London - the colours are inviting, but only for a short amount of time then they can induce nausea. And the seats slope down ever so slightly so that they get uncomfortable after a very short time. Must try and find it again - was fascinating

I had a customer back in the 90s that was a 'warehouse' store near Basingstoke. It was a similar idea to Costco, membership-based and you buy stuff in bulk and at a discount. Their floor was designed on purpose to look like a warehouse - cheap linoleum floor, industrial-looking racking and shelves, exposed ceiling showing all the pipework and air ducts, etc - but in fact it was a professional design made by a retail specialist firm - aimed at making the customers feel that they were bagging a bargain.
