about 12 weeks back my car (w204) just cut out and stalled at a roundabout , took key out and tried again to start and sounded like it was running on one cylinder , took key out again after looking under bonnet then tried starting again, it shook itself to life and all seemed well, just filled tank up and my local garage mechanic said it could of been contaminated fuel that has been blown through, its been running great upto two weeks ago same thing happened, stalled , no steering, brakes and stuck in middle of road, key out , key and started fine again after a struggle, got home anplugged in a cheap reader and found codes :
p0087 - fuel rail/system - too low
p0088 - fuel rail/system pressure- too high
p0089 - fuel pressure regulator 1 performance
i wiped the codes and took it to my garage and he found nothing ? all seemed fine again then same thing just happened in middle of roundabout again with same codes ,, can anybody help out as whats needed as finding it a bit dangerouse to drive at the moment , my local garage says if i buy parts he will fit them but not sure what i need. many thanks in advance......ps , i also have a DTUK tuning box fitted which has not caused any problems in the past ??

i'll get in there first, please take it your local Mercedes specialist who can plug it into star and check live info etc,of course your local garage will say to you to buy the parts and he will fit them but what if they don't cure the problem its a very expensive way of fixing cars by just chucking parts at it.

very true , i was hoping in a sad way someone had same problem and maybe fixed by just getting a sensor , ive been told merc will replace the whole fuel system and that would be money i aint got at this time, would they just charge to just diagnose problem and roughly how much does that cost ? thanks for quick reply

try and find a local independent Mercedes specialist, rather than the main dealer I have no idea on cost to diagnose i'm afraid

ive just taken off the DTUK tuning box and cleared codes, started up no issues , got service booked in weekend so will see how it goes

disconnected the DTUK box , also had full B service this morning and wheel tracking for £220 and all seems fine upto now
