Rare AMG 500 SEC

What a gorgeous SEC!

I seem to remember it being for sale a couple of years ago on a specialist classic car site (I can't remember the address or it's price, though).

I've certainly buy it if I had the money :)

Hmmmmm what ?

Very clean looking car.

The yanks go crazy over these old spec motors, they are yet to be truly appreciated here. Worth every penny of £10,000 plus on rarity alone.

Shame no interior shots..

Nice car and I appreciate it but I do prefer the more standard looking...maybe its the colour.

With only 53K miles also it must be a good deal for 10K use it as a Sunny days / fine days / show car and it will be worth that year after year :)

Update....

Read some more threads then came back and viewed the pictures again...

Think its the wheels, I would change them and it would look totatly different :)

I was offered the same car back a few years back circa £20k. At that point there was no mention of the DOHC engine, service history and the car required tidying up due to it being in storage. There was no paperwork to say the car was in storage for that many years either so i didn't bother.

I wonder what the reserve is? I'm sure it was based in Slough initially, i might go have a look as its only 5 mins up the road now.

drive down in yours nav whe you go to view it...... he hehe ehehe ;)

Odd that there is no photo of the engine when you consider that its the main selling point.

Mmm. I was dissapointed of no interior pics, when a car is selling for that price you do expect more, and on the description.

I agree with you and A210. The exteroir pictures are okay, but to get top dollar the car needs pictures, pictures and more pictures. The engine is a selling point and that would also need showing off, I'm sure the car is very nice but the seller is letting themselves down. The car looks stunning but I'm not a fan of the wheels.

If that car adds up then its worth 10K easily... if i didnt have mine i would have jumped at it for its widebody kit alone..

the car is crying out for some of the bits i have on my car... e.g smoked lights, split rims, tints, a proper exhaust etc etc...

The AMG penta's need to be colour coded and have the rims polished, they look part of the car then rather than an after thought. However if they are genuine AMG 5 spokes, 8J or 9J fronts and 10J rears they are very rare now with the wide body offset.

Being a Gen 1 car it just wouldn't look right with split rims, and aftermarket lights....the Gen 2 maybe but not these early ones.

What a tool, don't see many unmolested ones like this, sorry Jaymanek as it's a preface lift in my and it's only my opinion that early ones like this should be left as is,as not many good un's left.
Newer ones like yours I think are great for modding as there plenty to choose from and yours is a fantastic motor.
