Did you get custom mixed cans --- or if they were off the shelf where did you source them?

Thanks, after my first attempt I learnt a lot. I will be taking a few days off when the weather looks favourable to redo. What I've learnt:

1. When filling spray with black paint and sand it back, it'll let you see high and low spots, this would have helped me.

2. Shake rattle cans well (they say 2 mins, do it more)

3. Rub down between coats... so important

4. Lacquer .... lots of fine coats

5. If you car is worth more than £800 may be better to get professional help.

Got a can of ebay with lacquer, was going to go to Halfords but reviews were not great. Match is ok probably better with better prep (I learn the hard way) Silver in any make is the hardest to match.

Thanks for that. It would appear they are offering SHADE 1 of Brilliant Silver 744 according to the ICI mixing scheme. I believe there may be up to 4/5 recognised variants/Shades of 744 brilliant silver. You appear to have landed lucky- result!
