hi

Wheat can be the cause of rattling noise on pressing and realsing accelarator. this rattling is audible on both D (fwd) and R (reverse) only on slow speeds.

Location of noise is from underneath the accelarator.

Plz help

Regards

can it be catalytic converter

Lynall almost certainly has the answer. Had exactly the same trouble on my C220. The screw holes securing the exhaust shield had elongated and, as a result, the shild was dropping and vibrating. Larger washers cured it!

When I had a similar noise on the SLK it was the cat, replaced under warranty luckily.

is there any warranty for catalytic converters in the uk for specific time period. in US it is 80,000 miles? do we have any such law here.

Any ideas?
