Looking for advice in re-chroming a 2013 CLS.

The previous owner turned everything black which included the boot CLS badge and trim, the side window surround trims and the grille badge. Not quite to my taste.

The only chrome left is the Panamericana Grille and the wheels.

I've replaced the black pointed star in the grille with a chrome one, and the boot CLS badge, but cant find a chrome trim for the boot.

Is it possible to replace the window surround trims. Doesn't look as if they are wrapped so a replacement probably needed.

The window surround can I think be removed from the car and wrapped with chrome wrap, or it's a trip to the dealers for new.

You can buy them from MB but believe me they are very expensive my c63 was the opposite way around and cost well over a grand (chrome to black)

Many thanks.

Not too bothered about the cost.

All the blackness of it makes it look as though its sucking out all of the light of everything around out. :) Coming from a factory chromed wine red XF I find the lack of accentuation of the CLS beauty a bit depressing. mind you chromed comes with its own problems.

Especially on an xf 🤣
The XF was a brilliant car.

Smooth as a button at 150K. Drove like new.

At 12 years old the car got 64 MPG on long motorway runs out of a 3.0 V6 Diesel.

Ride was way better than the CLS.

However I will reconsider that next week when I replace all the tyres on the CLS. Mine are a legal but nearing end of life. We live and learn.

It's rare to see a CLS with the rear windows not to be tinted more than the front dooe windows.

My 2nd 1

Thought about but I'm hitting 60 and thought it a bit Chavy. I just want a comfy lounge to drive around in.

Already have. Silver and Chromed Mercedes logo. Must have been a bloody goth that owned it before me. I had the choice of many CLS for sale but this was was just round the corner from my work.

As mentioned above, look around for a company (probably one that does car window tinting) that does wrapping and get the offending parts chrome wrapped.
It will be cheaper than buying new parts
