Get a proper remap done. Tuning boxes are OK if your car is still under warranty (easily removed/reinstalled)

Welcome

Welcome buddy, i'd go with a Remap, Celtic Tuning is another company i know have done a couple of cars on here with good results.

ECU Remap | Chip Tuning | Engine Tuning | DPF Removal | Diesel Tuning

There price for my e320 cdi was £297, there are also some very good specialists on here that may be able to help you to.

Some of the Tuning box's can be hit or miss

Be good to see some pic's of your new Car too ;)

Remap designed for your particular car, box for anyones...

No contest really.

Whereabouts are you based OP?

I'd second Merc85. Celtic are very helpful and provide good gains. I've used them and they have a mobile service.

Alternatively go to MSL in Birmingham.

IMO, do not visit Eurocharged in Watford. I've just posted my (bad) experience of them, - I was very disappointed.

Cheers,
Robert

Let me know if we can help

Thanks acid

Just had ours done at United Diesel, a Viezu map - very impressed with it.

Thank to you all so far for your replies...

I am almost in the English Channel ...Lol...Dover, Kent

My previous V70 T5 Volvo had a remap done to the ECU direct ...280bhp`ish...and had no problems at all but with this Mercedes i just wondered what actually happens if i have a problem with the map and would the standard map become irretrievable which is why i thought of a little black box connected up.

Seeing i have had performance motors all of my 47yrs of cars ...yes, i am old 66...i tend to worry about this digital era....all my tuning days were at Brands Hatch and normally aspirated petrol motors. Never had smelly diesels then but come to think of it not smelly now either Lol...

I would appreciated any comments about owners motors that have had trouble after there remaps and not tuning boxes.

I had put up some pics. but of course who all have seen it all before but i do think myself it is a good looking motor....How on earth does one do the serpentine belt replacement?....Answer: the Dealer!

Shame about the Tow Bar...i`ll use it as a Parking Sensor for now!...

Hello Gav,
Yes, i think there are two! MAF`s in that "Y" piece going to the turbo...but the bit i don`t understand is all that piece in one is only £280 from Newcastle Mercedes.....Volvo would be that EACH for just the MAF!

I have just received a Haynes book to kick off with just to see what the rest of the motor is made of the engine is not in that book though...Lol

Just getting a quote from "Celtic" ...hope i don`t have to go to Cornwall though...

Just had a price from Celtic Tuning and this is what they said considering Dover is the opposite end of the map from Cornwall!

"The cost of the remap is £295 all inclusive for which we travel to your location whether it is home or work place. This comes with a 14 day money back guarantee which gives you plenty of time to ensure it is exactly what you are after."

Also what i can expect...224bhp std modified to 290bhp + 66

376lb/ft std. to 463lb/ft + 87

Sounds very good Keith, do they do petrol cars as well?
I have just fitted a smaller pulley on my supercharger & now a remap would finish it off nicely.

Do it ASAP otherwise it will be running lean. Make sure it's a map for the pulley you have.

I would question 290 bhp , it's more like 270ish.
