I am hesitant to raise the issue of keys / ignition etc but.......

My wife has just had her bunch of keys stolen including one for my car like this:

Can I get my remaining key and the car re-programed.

Hope so.

Cheers.

holy key capers batman!!

Yes the key that has been stolen can be de-activated etc... you will be fine! untill you see how much a new key costs!

I don't doubt you but how can the key thats been stolen be deactivated if it's no longer in my possesion?

new key is about £50 but it's the new cute one with the chrome star on it <img src="http://www.mbclub.co.uk/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=':)'>

They deactivate the other key by telling your car to ignore it (I think).

New key as Shude said or less, can't remember, wasn't too bad.

They don't strictly de-activate the lost/stolen key, they just tell the car to only recognise the keys you have. Slight difference.

Sorted.

New cute key with the chrome star on it £54.71

Cancel stolen ignition key £24.68

Total £79.39

Black 180.

I have a add on to my household insurance that covers stolen/lost keys, it is not something that affects my no claims discount on the house insurance, and is not something that i have to pay the excess on. It might be worth you trying this route with yours??........just a thought

Thanks Dave, I like your thinking and will make some enquiries.
