I am after some switches for a 93ish E class that have a central position, and switch either way from that. Mercman has found some rear blind switches, but is unable to confirm exactly how they work.

Is someone here able to test one of these switches for me? (I did look in the haynes manual, but this switch isnt shown)

It has 5 pins on the rear. I presume 2 pins are for illumination. I presume 1 pin is common, and connects to either of the other 2 to correspond which ever way the switch is pressed?

Thanks

1 pin is positive for illumination...1 pin is for ground (for the blind and the illumination)...1 pin is for power (from the fusebox) and 2 pins go to the rear blind (switched power/ground).

My bet is that the side with 2 pins is for illumination and ground and the middle pin on the 3 pin side is for power from the fusebox...the outer 2 pins go to the rearblind.

in restposition both pins to the rearblind are most probably grounded
