Hi all
I have a 2004 w211 320cdi AG est.
When i bought the car there was a squeal from the rear when braking(only noticable in the final moments before standstill),I noted that on the previous service that there was a notation that the rear pads would need changing on the next service.
The squeal got on my nerves after a bit so i took it tomy local indi and asked him to take a look at the discs aswell.
He said the discs were fine and he just changed the pads.
To my annoyance the squeal is still there:wallbash:

Anyone got any ideas as to what else may be causing this as its driving me up the wall!!!!!

Is there a lip on the edge of the discs? Cheap brake pads? Backplate rubbing the disc? Lack off grease on the back of the pads?

Hi
No lip as he said they were only about 1/3rd worn.
Pagid pads from euro car parts fitted.
I had a good look through the alloys after fitting and if anything there seemed to be alot of grease around the new pads.
Having said that i dont know what is the norm so i cant be an authority on that....

If you look at the disc, dose it look like the new pad is catching an unworn part of the disc around the hub?
