my rear climate control is blowing warm on my ml,but the front is operating fine,is there a separate evap for the rear or is it just ducted from the front?

I have a 54 ML270, the rear vent did give problems! The air source is ducted from the main heat/ac source at the front, there is a separate rear fan. There is an electronic controlled flap that can turn off the rear airflow. Mine would close, but not reopen, so I took the control link off the flap control so it is always on. Doesn't seem to cause a problem as you can switch off the rear vent controls from the front.

Aircon Rear Shut off Flap Actuator Motor

Hi
I have the same problem.(assuming you have W163 MY2002 onwards)
It is the Aircon Rear Shut off Actuator Motor that is broken. Part number A163 820 05 08. I bought one today in the UK for 103.50 Pounds.

This picture is of a LHD. Only problem is that yours (as is mine) is a RHD, which means you must apply a mirror image onto the picture. There is also a parkbrake bracket to contend with.
I have DIY instructions, but will let you know whether I have managed to do the installation as soon as I am back in South Africa. (Thursday):D
