Rear clunking sound on my E350 W212 Estate

Just jacked up the car on drivers side to find this and wondered if anyone has had the same issue. I assume it part of the shock absorber system but it also looks like the mount point where the shock goes in to the body so a bit worrying. Have mechanic coming Monday to look at it for me.

Looks like the top of the damper has a bit broken-off?

The broken bit looks like it's part of the damper, not the mount.

So two new rear dampers should sort it?
