I wonder if somebody can help.
Apologies this is a long message but hope it's self explanatory.
I have a 2011 c class W204 which has a digital display control at the rear of the console between the seats. For sometime the drivers side of the tunnel has been getting hot. I have found 2 heater ducts running along the each side of the tunnel to what appears a disc shaped motor/blower I reckon it adjusts the rate coming out rear grill as you adjust rear panel.
I thought the duct might be leaking hot air where it connects to the heater outlet on drivers side as that's where it gets hot but it isn't.
What I've noticed is the drivers side always blows hot and other side seems to blow cold. Is that right or should both blow at same temp. It seems logical so you can adjust temp for rear seat area independently as it mixes hot and cold. If that's correct any idea why the tunnel carpet and plastic is getting so hot. It's not the exhaust. Also aircon is fine and front console heating controls working OK.

Hi Paul, Did you resolve this? I have the same problem on my 2008 W204 220CDi and am keen to fix the issue. Simon

Hi Simon as you see didn't get any help from this forum. So spent a lot of time on Google and didn't really find anything however I reckon from various bits of information I found the problem was the heater actuator on right side. Issue is it didn't seem easy to get at that part. Looked like lot of the central dash/ console needed removing. So decided to leave as is.
Maybe one day I'll have a go. Sorry it's not much help.

Hi Paul, Thank you for coming back to me, I appreciate it. I think you might be right. I have ordered a replacement part and will weigh up how much of a pain it will be to try and fit it. Simon

Good luck, let me know how you get on. Be interested if not too difficult I may have a go.
