Hi all, a common topic I know but can’t see an answer (yes I did search! ;)). I have a 2018 C300 coupe with the intelligent lights and it frustrates me that the DRL’s at the front are obviously on all the time but the rears don’t come on with them. With my old Audi I could use VDCS to sort this. I know there is no VDCS equivalent for Mercedes but is there any way to get my rears on all the time with front DRL’s, without turning on the main lights? Many Thanks!

I may be wrong, but i know of no car that uses the rear lights along with the
DRL. Put the swich to Auto, when dark enough the lights will come on.

A couple.... but not many I agree. The fact is though that on my Audi they could be coded to come on with DRL’s. Is there any way to do this with MB?

From GOV.UK
"In general all other lights should remain off when the DRL are on but for a limited period some vehicles may be available which automatically activate the rear position lamps at the same time as the DRL."
Daytime running lights

I feel sure someone with better than i will be along shortly to assist.

1. 'Coding' on MB cars isn't really a DIY job, it required STAR, MB's diagnostic computer, and in most cases it will have to be genuine STAR with valid subscription, Vediamo, and access to VeDoc.

2. Mb Dealers will have this kit, but they are unlikely to be willing to spend time fumbling with undocumented features.

3. Your best bet is a specialist with the above-mentioned kit, e.g. Alfie and Richard at www.comandonline.co.uk.

4. There are many obscure (and some less obscure) features that can be coded, turned on or off, added or deleted with STAR, but I have no idea if the feature you are asking for is even possible on MB cars. If it's important to you, you could book your car in with a specialist and let them check what/if can be done. But do keep in mind that none of it will be free...
