rear sam

I was wondering if it is possible to to code a used (ebay ) rear sam from a same spec car to my car so as to dave buying my new from the dealers ?

will a brand new rear sam from mercedes neeed to be coded if ordered by reg no ?

On the older cars a like for like swap shouldn't require any coding

it's a 2011 w204, rear fog lights and break lights constantly on when new sam is plugged in , any ideas?
