Has anyone replaced the rear shocks on a SL350 (R230)? If so, how much were the parts? Are there any other shocks available other than Mercedes ones?Are they any cheaper? Europarts only quote one at over £1100 !!!(not a pair)

If they are hydraulic shocks, then answer is no. I haven't been able to find any other supplier than dealer.
If somebody does know it would be useful.

With Mot looming, I had to bite the bullet and buy shocks from dealer (£375 all in) .That was the easy part-fitting was a different story. It took a friend and I almost 4.5 hours ( I was helping him ,not him helping me!) I reckon it would have been almost imposssible without a lift.
