Rear Springs cap and rubber cushion (Aclass)

hi

before i start, great forum lads found alot of very useful stuff like
loftys a class website, what a lot of work hes put into that site i take my hat of to him, his site has saved me lots of money

anyway im changing my rear springs and need to find where i can get the
cap and rubber cushion that sits between the the swing arm and the spring..

i must have bought a old set of springs as after reading loftys page hes say that the new springs dont need the cap and rubber cushion, do i even need that cap and rubber cushion is it a MOT failure
