Rear springs (w211)

I took the N/S rear wheel off today & I noticed,what is possibly a broken spring.The trouble was that I could'nt be possitive, as the apparent crack was near the bottom of the cup holder. IE. in the bottom last part of the coil. Is this a common place for these springs to go. If it does mean a spring change,are there any bushes worth changing whil'st i'm at it

Springs normally break at the lowest coil, as you describe.

This was'nt picked up on the MOT (2weeks ogo) & I don't notice anything untoward When driving. Should I?
