E220cdi....& E320cdi Avantgarde estates
My 2004 220 cdi estate has taken to sitting down at the rear! Can anyone advise as to how I can identify, for replacement purposes, the appropriate 'shockers' I need? Online prices seem to range from £25 or so up to several hundred....Advice/information would be a great help....THANKS.

Not shock absorbers but air bags?
May be an air leak in the pipework or manifold, possibly the pump has given up.
You need to identify the issues before throwing parts/money at it.
Get the codes read at a friendly independent with STAR.

Seconded. It could be a multitude of things, but not shock absorbers.
The air compressor behind the front bumper could be at fault. The air lines. A faulty height sensor. Defective airbags?
Also, the wiring loom at the air compressor is known to corrode and cause faults (happened on mine). Certainly a merc specific code reader like Star or iCarsoft will point you in the right direction...

Thanks for that fellas.....have referred it to my Indi and trust he'll proceed looking as advised....again THANKS!

Anyone know how ?

Could I do it with stock struts/shocks ?

I notice that the M3 sedan models have raised rear suspension, you can practically see the axle looking from behind.
