Rear tyre odd brands - Slidey

Of the more "budgety" end, Kumho score well, but don't last apparently, Landsail don't score well for wet at all and the dry grip is ok, but longer braking than others, Hankooks is a wear thing and they are only £3 cheaper than the Dunlops...

So far the Dunlops are coming out on top

I would say look for any current deals on tyres. I just had four Goodyear Eagle F1 Asymmetric 6s with 20% off four. They rank very similarly to the most Premium tyres and are not quite as expensive. Halfords currently have 20% off on two or more premium tyres.

The op says funds are tight just now. I just had a google of Accelera tyres. Made in Indonesia & they seem to get "good" reviews. Also have 5 year 45000mile warranty & you can get a free replacement if tread is less than 2/32 (1.6mm). So keep the Acceleras & bin the others (the reviews say the others are not good in the wet) Buy another pair of Acceleras, so they are all the same make.
Asda tyres sell them for between £60 to £88 depending on type, probably get them elsewhere

I went budget ..no more expansive tyres for me ..just a good as Avon i can have 2 sets for the price of Avons ..they fiit these to planes so good enough for my car. View attachment 170689car
Tyre specifications and construction for aircraft are somewhat different to those for road vehicles

Generally pretty constantly poor reviews.......personally I would not buy them (says the man with Sunwides on his car......but I didn't buy them!!). Scroll down to see that they seem to come last or close to last on most testing.

Had them on my E320 CDI as the previous owner went for the cheap option.

They lasted a day before I had them replaced.

I did consider that, b ut I can't live with the "C" wet rating, but the Dunlops at £183 each are a very, very good price.

Unstabilised approach, wet runway, tailwind; are you sure.... (incident occurred on 12 July 2017).
Yes. Absolutely sure.

It was the Pilot carrying out an uunstsbilised approach. That is not due to poor tyres.

Poor runway conditions and a tailwind would all add significantly to the required runway length

Gotcha... :D

What point are you trying to make here?

You told us it was an unstabilised approach, to a wet runway and with a tailwind.

Are you suggesting none of those factors were involved or was your first comment poorly worded and I have misunderstood your post ?

I still like the theory that someone yanked the handbrake on half way down the runway:D
