Hi,
Quick one...I just took my wheels to be refurbished and need to supply new rear tyres. Problem is I didn't make a not of the size.

They are 18" AMG 5 Spokes on a 2003 CLK

If you know the size of the rear tyres please let me know

I need to know for sure I'm afraid as I'm buying these tyres on line and having them delivered to the wheel refinishers.

Erm...how would a tyre shop know for sure what size from the description above?

thanks for reply though :)

I have 9.5x18 SL AMG alloys like yours with 265/35/18.. I think the standard CLK AMG alloys are 8.5 x 18.. these tyres will fit this size of alloy as well...

hmmmmmm....that's an interesting point ...if I put slightly wider tyres on is it going to give me more curb protection?
It looks like I'm going to have to call the finishers on monday and get them to check and see what size the wheels are....bugger

No Additional protection...the bead will sit on the wheel in the same position as any other tyre...

The standard size for my clk55 amg (2003) model for the rear tyres is 255/35/18

Pete

yep 255/35 ....thanks
I went to the falken tyres website and began typing in the size and it auto completed so that must have been the size i typed in last time i searched.
paying £212 delivered for a pair of Falken 452 from Camskill

I fitted Falken 452's in 255.35.18 from Camskill on the rear of my slk about 3 weeks ago . I think they are great tyres for the price, far less noise than the dunlops they replaced, and the car seems to drive a lot smoother too. You should be well pleased with them.

255/35/18 correct for Clk with AMG wheels

Just fitted Falken 452's to the rear of my C270.....inital thoughts are that they are much quieter and smoother than the Conti sports they replaced and there does not appear to be any loss of handling (in dry anyway) and almost half the price!!

got falkens on my 18s 265/35 18 y rating

im happy sounds quieter and there cheap as chips!

Just phoned the wheel blokes...BJV Engineering and they won't be ready till next week :(...the Falkens arrived at their workshop no problem though.

Oh well, at least I should be able to collect my new Triumph Tiger 1050 (in white) today :bannana:
