I'm Back in a Benz: 2016 CLA45 S/Brake Previous: C250Cdi Est AMG Sport + Auto, E220Cdi SE Coupe.
I noticed the other day that the rear bumper has got some scuffs on the top edge....not really surprised considering I take 2 teenage boys to school in it every morning.....

So, has anyone fitted a "rearguard"protector on their car.....ideally a C estate??

If so, any good??

Thanks :thumb:

Ok.....anyone used an alternative....??

:(

I am an@l about this kind of thing and general do not let anyone put things in the boot apart from me. In fact I still have the blue film over the aluminium plate after 2.5 years.

You might find one of those companies that provides protective film may do something, although they generally offer parts for the front to stop stone chips.

I googled and found this, no idea if they are any good, but the 3M product is supposed to be. I have Lamin-X on my fog lamps but that is too thick to use on body panels.

Or...

Tell the fekkers to lift their bags properly of they can walk!!!

They don't make one for the new B Class. There is a small metal look one already fitted by Mercedes.

It would be good to find one that did a proper job of covering the tail end of my new B Class. When on holiday last year in rural France I attempted to turn round in one of those 'passing places' half way up a narrow mountain. I just lightly grazed the middle of the back bumper. It's not at all obvious, a little normal road dirt and it is not visible, but I'll have to do something about it when the weather gets better.

The ventureshield stuff is good - have used it in the past - but of course its a little like closing the stable door....as the scuffs are there already...

^ what do you make of it? how easy is it to fit? I might consider buying one.

I'm very pleased with it tbh.

It covers up a few nasty scuffs. Fits perfectly and it looks like it should be there (imo). Couldnt be easier to fit - clean the bumper surface (alcohol wipe provided), take backing tape off adhesive strips, stick to bumper!

It protects the wearing surfaces and if it gets scruffy, well I can get another one.

Recommended.

Biggest issue for me was deciding which finish to go for!!

Saab did a bumper guard that folded out covering the bumper and that extended low enough so that you didn't get you trousers dirty when leaning into the boot.

It attached to the lash/tie down rings. I have seen a similar (but cheaper) version…….I think by Richbrook. Their one attaches using hook velcro.

Needing a much bugger one (so it covers the whole width) for the Vito, I made one from nylon material and webbing. No scratches and no dirty trousers.
