So my question is for a 3 year old car is it 20% off the fixed priced servicing costs...if so that seems good value to me.

Or is it fixed price then 20% off all the other bits like filters needed etc if needed...


I have emailed them asking....will report back -- I expect this will be the norm with other Sytner Group Garages

And they have for me in the past -- matching the cheapest local tyre fitters for new tyres.

I've mentioned this many times, but, if you ask them, Inchcape dealerships with do A services at typically 20% less than the standard price and B services at a third less, and that's on any age car.

I do think all these special offers are just hooks to get you in and load on extra work - offering discounted MOTs is a classic for that.

I concur with that.

The problem is that they're then left basically trying to make the money from the extras and they can ratchet up to more than an undiscounted serivice. So they risk a much bigger customer backlash when somebody puts a car in and gets told that ATF and brakes are needed and the cost triples or even quadruples.

My Volvo V70 went to an Indie garage for it's 96k service which is a biggie with a new cambelt.

Was told I needed £600 worth of genuine volvo brake discs and pads.

Went to Micheldever Garage near Andover. £300 - all done. Thanks v much !

Looking at the ad, I think you're confusing service and maintenance. It appears to show a menu for servicing prices which matches up pretty well with the adverts that my local dealer (MB Chester, owned by Inchcape) run most weeks in the local paper. Those prices apply to any age car, so, as I mentioned in a prvious post, they're effectively discounting servicing by around 20% for an A service and by 33% on a B service.

I think that is a good idea to give you a menu, so you can see what your getting 20% off

I wish all merc dealers had the same prices... MB brentford are MORONS... and they charge far too much (quoted me £450 for a simple B service). Last time i got my car 'serviced' there, i could hear my car being ragged before it came into view ... i did tell him he shouldn't treat other people's cars the way he treats his own... but i dont think he got it..

I have just booked my car in for a service with Stratstone Mercedes-Benz...

They initially quoted a price which was substantially more, but when asked, they agreed to match Sytner's price.
