Background: Had car (w204 c220 didn't 2010) serviced by ClickMechanic. The mechanic told me he was ex-Mercedes and he is local so I've been using him for work but he doesnt have Star/Xentry.
EML came on, took it to an Indy with Xentry. Faults on dpf, teach-in cylinder 2, quantity control valve. They tested the cylinders and said they are fine, the dpf is blocked as a result of no regen while eml, and they didn't think any real issue with QCV. Would need further investigation for an indefinite amount of time, minimum 6 hours.
Went back to local mechanic who replaced dpf, as well as took part engine and cleaned components of carbon. Changed a couple valves and pipes that were too gummed up, fuel filter etc.
Was driving perfect for a couple days then eml light back. Teach in cylinder 2 and low fuel pressure. Local mechanic cant work out what's wrong. Admitted hes not ex-merc.
Now I'm trying to work out the best thing to do. The first indy already said they didn't know what was wrong and would need to investigate. Is it worth going back to them? Should I bite the bullet and pay Merc £160 to diagnose? I feel like they can only get the same results as the indy so will say the same thing.
Anyone know a good indy for injectors/fuel system?
Maybe just time to get rid of the car?
