Recommendation needed: Reliable Independent Merc servicing in Buckinghamshire

Hi there,

I have a 98 C230 Estate. It needs a B service and the brakes are sticking.

Any recommendation for a reliable place to service the car and brakes. Just looking for someone that is not going to take my money and break my car.

Did find two places from google search. A guy in Princes Risborough and a shop in Tooting (MercService). Any of these good?

I am based in Slough.

Nearest I have seen could be Bullstrode Garage near Gerrards Cross. They sell second hand Mercs so I suspect they will work on them too. Not sure if they are a rip off merchant or genuine workshop.

The guys over at Princes Risborough are ex MB techs and very good.

There's a bodyshop a few units along (Steve) who's good (and reasonable) too.

In the end booked in with Prestige just north or Portsmouth because he was able to fit me in this saturday.

I think Bulstrode garage is just a used car dealer, rather than an MB specialist. I've looked at a couple of cars there a few years ago, and didn't feel inclined to trust them. I think it was when I asked about rust problems on the W210 series, which the bloke claimed to have no knowledge of.

There is a garage in Maidenhead called Osbornes, which was recommeded to me by a Merc-owner up the pub I used to drink at. Not used them personally, but this guy used them for years with his 124 series estate. Think he still uses them now he has a C-Class coupe.
