recommended oil for 300d

Hi, I have just bought a `90 300d, 140k up and first thing I want to do is change the oil, any suggestions on viscosity, mineral or synthetic etc ? also a suitable diesel additive to lube injectors/pump, any other useful tips appreciated.

You need diesel specific oil to MB 228.3 spec. Most decent 15W-40 diesel oils should meet this.
It's best to use synthetic or at least semi-synth.

Use a diesel aditive to keep injectors clean and the pump lubricated.

I use Millers XFD oil and their Power Plus fuel additive in my TurboD.

Thanks Dieselman, I shall source these this weekend. It has also got a noisy rear wheelbearing I need to replace, any tips ?
